Is $18 the actual price?
Yes. $18 CAD per employee per month billed monthly. $16 CAD per employee per month if you prefer annual billing (about 11% off). No add-ons, no per-module fees, no per-user upgrades within the tier. Sales tax (GST / HST / PST) added at checkout based on your province.
What counts as an employee?
Anyone with Active or On Leave status in your account. Former employees and deactivated records do not count toward billing.
What if we have more than 30 employees?
The current tier is capped at 30. If you are close or over, book a demo and we will scope what makes sense. We would rather not overpromise scale we have not proven yet.
Is there a free trial?
7 days, full access, no credit card required. Cancel any time during the trial at no cost.
How do we get started?
Fill out the trial form with your firm name, contact details, and phone. We reach back within one business day to provision your account and walk you through the parts that matter most for your firm.
When does billing start?
After the 7-day trial ends and you decide to continue. Billing runs through Helcim, a Canadian PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor. Card details are tokenized by HelcimPay.js in your browser and never touch Hibiscus HR servers.
Where is our data stored?
In Canadian Microsoft Azure data centres. We never transfer your data outside Canada. Sensitive fields (SINs, banking) are encrypted at the field level on top of database-wide AES-256 encryption.
Do you support Quebec payroll?
Not available yet. The Quebec engine (QPP and QPP2, QPIP, reduced EI rate, Quebec income tax, HSF, WSDRF, CNESST, RL-1, RLZ-1.S, TPZ-1015, labour standards, Law 25, pay equity) is built and now in independent legal and linguistic audit, with professional Quebec-French and OQLF review. We will not turn it on for a single employer until that audit clears. Today Hibiscus HR runs payroll for the nine provinces and three territories outside Quebec.
How do we cancel?
From Settings → Billing in the platform. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted per our PIPEDA-aligned retention policy.
